' Pumpkin Home' shows off 3,000 gourds in West Virginia

KENOVA, West Virginia – – It sticks out every Halloween in Kenova, West Virginia - - thousands of carved jack-o-lanterns illuminating a home on Beech Street.

According to the website, the tradition started in 1978, when Ric Griffith carved simply five pumpkins for his family members.

With assistance from member of the family, regional students and volunteers from West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky, the display screen grew exponentially throughout the years, reaching 2,000 gourds to mark the brand-new centuries.

The Pumpkin House now flaunts 3,000 pumpkins to countless visitors every October.

According to sis station WOWK, this year, organizers also set up a new LED light show that's synced to music.
