' Very shocking': Household shares video of violent break-in involving several victims

DENVER (BNN)-- The shop Joyeria El Ruby is family-owned and run and has actually remained in Denver for 24 years, however the owners became victims of a violent burglary on Monday.

" Yes, I am extremely afraid, mostly for our kids," said Lidia Tena, the store owner.

Right before 2 p.m. Monday, Myrna Munoz said a guy entered into the store and pretended to be shopping. She stated a couple of minutes later, 3 more guys can be found in the front door and entered the "cage" location of the store.

Munoz stated something did not feel. She asked the 3 guys to take off their sunglasses and hats, to which they concurred. Within a matter of seconds of them getting in, things turned violent.

Tena said she tried to get the panic button, but one of the robbers stopped her.

" I believed they would eliminate me after hitting me three times and they told me they would kill me and my niece if I moved towards the panic button," Tena said.

Munoz stated when she left, she took her kids to a store next door and went back to help when she saw 4 more armed males head into the shop through the back door.

" I saw 4 men coming in the back entrance with glasses and hats," Munoz said. "They were all wearing white gloves and packing their weapons."

Munoz said her sister was in the bathroom when the burglary began, and when she walked out, she was also assaulted by one of the robbers.

" He grabbed her by the hair, took her up the stairs and informed her not to move or he was going to kill her," Munoz stated. "While she was deal with down on the flooring, he was yanking all of her individual precious jewelry off."

In a matter of 3 minutes, the eight burglars wiped out the shop, leaving behind a mess and a shaken family.

"It's very traumatizing. It's an extremely difficult time for my household and we desire the neighborhood to please share the videos if you understand them," Munoz said.

The Denver Police Department validated detectives are searching for 8 Hispanic male suspects involved in this. Munoz said it seemed like the males were speaking with a Venezuelan accent.
