3 apprehended for $30,000 high-end purse theft in Glendale


Three ladies were detained for apparently taking thousands of dollars worth of designer handbags from a Glendale shopping center on Wednesday.

Glendale officers on e-bikes were patrolling on Colorado Street near The Americana at Brand when they noticed an automobile without license plates blocking traffic in the location.

After pulling the car over, officers discovered burglary tools inside the automobile, together with a number of stolen designer handbags with price tags connected. The approximated value of the bags was around $30,000, cops stated.

A photo from the scene revealed some of the taken goods that included numerous Dior purses including:
– – A small black Lady D-Joy bag worth around $4,900.
– – A medium Dior important lug bag worth around $5,000.
– – A little pink Lady D-Joy bag with pearl embroidery worth around $7,700.

A police image likewise showed a Nordstrom shopping bag placed on top of the suspects' automobile, although it's unclear whether the taken purses were taken from that store.

When questioned, all three suspects denied ownership of the bags and no purchase receipts were found, authorities stated.

A minimum of one suspect was found to be on felony probation for theft. Shopping center security told cops they recognized the ladies from previous thefts.

The suspects were detained on charges of receiving taken residential or commercial property and possession of theft tools.

This arrest follows a string of flash mob burglaries taking place across Southern California over the previous few weeks consisting of at a Norstrom at the Westfield Topanga shopping center, a YSL store at the Americana at Brand in Glendale, a luxury jeans shop in Hancock Park, a Gucci store at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa and a Nike shop in East L.A. and a store in Huntington Beach.

On Thursday, 6 burglars involved in the Nike robbery were detained, along with the first suspect in the YSL break-ins and three suspects in the Huntington Beach robberies.
