( CNN) - - Three people were killed and 10 wounded in a shooting at a supermarket in Fordyce, Arkansas, the Arkansas State Police stated in a press conference Friday.
The 10 individuals wounded consist of 2 police officers. The thought shooter was also wounded and nabbed.
Police initially got calls about an active shooter at the Mad Butcher grocery store at around 11:30 a.m. regional time, Mike Hagar, the Secretary of Public Safety and Director of Arkansas State Police said at the news conference.
Law enforcement responded right away and exchanged gunfire with the "lone suspect."
The injuries to the officers and the suspect are ruled out lethal, according to Hagar. He noted the "circumstance is secured ... contained. There are no active dangers to the community."

One witness, David Rodriguez, informed CNN that he was pulling into a filling station when he heard "pops," which he believed were fireworks. Quickly after the suspect started firing bullets more quickly, Rodriguez saw people ranging from the scene. He then heard sirens and saw police and ambulances get to the scene.
Rodriguez states the Mad Butcher grocery store's front windows were broken as if they had been "shot open" by gunfire.
Matthew Gill, the meat supervisor at the Mad Butcher, informed CNN a man entered the store with a shotgun and wound up in a shootout with police.
As the shooting unfolded, some people hid in a cooler in the grocery store, Fordyce City Council Member Roderick Rogers informed CNN affiliate KATV. When the shooting took location, he said he was on the phone with someone in the shop.
" Man, it was bad," Rogers stated.
The council member said that he had spoken with survivors of the shooting who "are distressed."
" We are attempting to get some therapy and everything established at the moment," he included.
Fordyce, a little city in southeast
Dallas County, had a population of simply 3,396 in 2020.
