RALEIGH, N.C. (BNN)-- An approaching cold front will bring an area of light rain through the triangle later this evening into midday Friday. The shield of stable rain moves off to the east tomorrow afternoon, but a shower or two may linger behind. The chances for thunder appear to reducing for tomorrow as well.
A secondary cold frontal passage Saturday might bring us a light shower or two, but any rainfall will be short.
Skies will clean out Saturday night, enabling temperature levels to drop off into the upper 20s.
Sunday will be cool and sunny as high pressure relocations in from the west. This high will move quickly off the coast Monday allowing temps to warm above typical as early as Monday afternoon. A warm frontal passage might set off a shower or 2 Monday, but any considerable rain will hold back up until later on in the week.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will all seem like spring as afternoon temperatures reach the 70s. The most likely day for rain is Thursday as a strong cold front methods from the west.
