ALCS Game 6: Houston Astros and Texas Rangers go to a winner-take-all Game 7 to decide AL pennant

HOUSTON, Texas (BNN)-- The Houston Astros got in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series with momentum from the 3 victories they stole in Arlington and the hope of clinching a trip to the World Series at home.
Rather, the Astros and their AL West competitors, the Texas Rangers, will battle in a winner-take-all Game 7 on Monday.
Here'& #x 27; s how Game 6 unfolded:
Astros strike initially at home

Jose Altuve plated the first rating after singling, taking 2nd, and being sent out home on a Yordan Alvarez RBI hit. Houston led 1-0.
Bryan Abreu, whose two-game suspension on Saturday supplied a good share of the drama late in the series, officially appealed the ban and is readily available out of the bullpen in Game 6.
Rangers answer quickly
Real to their combating spirit throughout the ALCS, the Rangers instantly dinged up Framber Valdez.
Mitch Garver swung at the first pitch he saw to start the second inning and sent out Valdez'& #x 27; s sinker out of the yard. Just like that, the game was tied 1-1.

AP Photo/Godofredo A. VásquezAfter a scoreless third inning for both sides, the Texas Rangers attacked Valdez once again in the bottom of the 4th inning, when, with a runner on and two outs, Jonah Heim launched a 336-foot homer to best field.
Heim'& #x 27; s round-tripper landed in the front row, just out of the grasp of outfielder Kyle Tucker'& #x 27; s glove. Texas makes the lead, 3-1.
Valdez left the video game after the 5th inning, allowing five hits, two walks, and 3 earned runs. He started out 6 batters.
Astros cut into deficit Up up until the sixth inning, Alvin native Nathan Eovaldi'& #x 27; s only blemish to his Game 6 start was a first-inning RBI by Yordan Alvarez.
Down 2 runs, Alvarez again got on base in the sixth inning, along with Jose Abreu, who singled in the following at-bat. Kyle Tucker hit into a fielder'& #x 27; s choice to advance Alvarez, who then scored thanks to a Mauricio Dubon sacrifice fly.
Houston came within a run of Texas, 3-2. At that point, Eovaldi, who was able to restrict the damage to just the one rating, was questionable to return in the next inning, with Josh Sborz warming in the bullpen.
Eovaldi, however, returned for the seventh inning, when, after signing up the very first out, Jose Altuve collected his 2nd hit of the video game. Texas supervisor Bruce Bochy required the bullpen afterward.
Sborz quickly snuffed out the threat by causing a double play to Michael Brantley.

VásquezAll eyes were on Bryan Abreu & #x 27; s status heading into Game 6 after his suspension and subsequent appeal. Supervisor Dusty Baker called on Abreu in the 8th inning, where Texas & #x 27; Evan Carter
stretched extended a single and then stole second 2nd.
Abreu wouldn & #x 27; t get out of the inning unscathed when he permitted a Mitch Garver RBI double to score Carter. Texas got back the two-run lead, 4-2. Jose LeClerc, who gave up the go-ahead home run in Game 5, entered after Tucker & #x 27; s walk and caused Dubon to lineout.

Ryne Stanek went into without any outs and hit Corey Seager to extend Texas & #x 27; lead, 5-2. Two batters later on, Adolis Garcia made contact on a 97 mph four-seam fastball up and in the middle for a grand slam.
Texas & #x 27; lead takes off to 9-2, which ended up being the final after Rangers reliever Andrew Heaney retired the Astros & #x 27; 3 outs in order'. 2023 ALCS schedule and results: Series tied 3-3 Houston Astros' Jose Altuve, left, celebrates after striking a home' run as Texas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim kneels behind home plate on Oct. 18, 2023,in Arlington, Texas.AP Photo/Godofredo A.
