SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WROC)-- For the 2nd straight season, the Amerks advanced to the third round of the Calder Cup Playoffs after defeating the Crunch 5-4 in OT on Saturday night.
Rochester became just the 12th group in AHL history to get rid of a 2-0 deficit and win a best-of-5 series.

Rochester a 4-1 lead. Syracuse included a goal late in the 2nd period to cut the Amerk lead back to 2 heading into the last period.
Midway through the 3rd duration, Syracuse found the back of the web again to make it a 4-3 video game. With 30 seconds left in guideline, Trevor Carrick scored the equalizer after the puck took a few uncomfortable bounces.
After being dominated in the period, Amerks head coach Seth Appert took unusual method throughout the intermission to get his team back on track.

The
Rochester faithful traveled well to Syracuse Saturday night making their presence felt throughout the video game.
" That was amazing and that was special to see," said Appert. "That's a credit to our gamers that they earned that love from this fanbase due to the fact that of the heart, the character, and the persistence that this group has come to play with now.
The Amerks will now deal with the Toronto Marlies in the North Division Finals. Video game 1 will be played in Toronto on Thursday, May 11th at 7pm followed by Game 2 on Saturday, May 13th at 4pm.
The series will return to
Rochester on Wednesday, May 17th for Game 3 while a Game 4, if needed, will be played at Blue Cross Arena on Friday, May 19th.
If a Game 5 is required, the choosing video game will be held Sunday, May 21st in Toronto.
