Arkansas guv gets rolled by Easter egg false information

THE FACTOR FOR THE TREASON: For $59.99, you can buy this Christian nationalist Bible and help Donald Trump pay his ever-mounting legal costs.

The rules for the yearly White House Easter egg art contest were the same this year as they've always been.

This truth got neglected of protection by Fox News, which selected to weaponize the holiest vacation of the Christian faith by implicating the Biden administration of prohibiting religious symbols from art contest entries.

And Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders leapt aboard the phony news train, spreading out a split conspiracy theory on social media.

Eggs and bunnies are charming, but they're not what Easter is about. Tomorrow, millions of Americans will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the most spiritual day in the Christian faith.

It shouldn't be that tough for this administration to celebrate along with us. https://t.co/UehVP6TiJR

While the right-wingers at The Daily Caller signed up with Sanders and Fox News in implicating President Biden of stripping the Christianity out of Easter, other media outlets worked to set the record directly. From NBC:

Emily Metz, president and CEO of the American Egg Board, a group that supports the White House Egg Roll, said in a statement, "The American Egg Board has actually been a fan of the White House Easter Egg Roll for over 45 years and the standard language referenced in recent report has actually regularly used to the board considering that its starting, throughout administrations."

Conservative efforts to crucify Biden this Easter weekend weren't restricted to grievances about the White House egg art contest.

March 31 has actually been the International Transgender Day of Visibility considering that 2009. This year, obviously, March 31 also took place to be Easter.

Jesus would likely have actually been cool with sharing his special day with a misconstrued and ostracized group. Isn't his open-armed welcome of the oppressed one of the factors we're still talking about Jesus 2,000 years later?

But cultural conservatives disagree. And so does Donald Trump, whose MAGA-version Bible must be different from the regular variation. (His "God Bless the USA Bible" is a $59.99 financial investment we have not made, so can't say for sure.).

Previous Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sanders' father, was among the crowd assaulting Biden for being nice to transgender people.

Thankfully, the Washington Post stepped up to fix the record after Trump, House Speaker Mike Johnson and other Christian nationalists accused Biden of stealing Jesus's thunder and blasphemously offering it to the trans community.
