Armed robbery suspect in critical condition after being shot by Stockton police

(FOX40.COM) - - A man is in vital condition after he was shot by the Stockton Cops Department throughout a break-in investigation.

Around 9 p.m. on Saturday, SPD responded to an armed robbery at a business situated in the 5700 block of Pacific Avenue. Officers stated the suspect run away, however an SPD helicopter assisted find him. The suspect was found in a property yard in the 400 block of W. Longview, which has to do with a block far from the business.

"Despite various efforts and means of interaction with the suspect, he refused to comply and exit the yard," SPD said in a press release.

An arrest group supposedly tried to take the suspect into custody and during the process, cops shot him. Additional information on what prompted the shooting were not revealed, however, the suspect was taken to a local health center where he remains in vital condition. No officers were hurt.
