BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – – A regional household is searching for responses and aid after their family-owned food truck was presumably set on fire purposefully.

The Hernandez household of Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood is extremely upset about their food truck being significantly damaged and, possibly, completely damaged. They got in touch with News 4's Call For Action intending to discover the person or individuals accountable.

The truck has actually been required to the city's impound lot. The family-run organization is called La Ventana Del Sabor-- which translates to the window of taste.

They have been serving Puerto Rican food in the Black Rock community for years out of their mom's home on East Street. They've been preparing to release their own food truck service over the past months.

However on Friday night, someone presumably set a little fire inside the food truck, which caused small damage near a range. It was then on early Monday early morning that Buffalo Fire say the food truck was deliberately set on fire again and severely damaged.

" My heart dropped, it's his dream, it's her dream they have a new baby on the way, I've prepared for several years you know and I want my son to prosper and this occurred it simply broke my heart," said Omira Reyes, Johnathan Hernandez's mother.

Hernandez says it's been his girlfriend's imagine owning a dining establishment and were stunned to learn somebody would do this.

" We were going to do a grand opening over here in our neighborhood because we were raised born and raised over here, however sadly you see what happened," Hernandez said. "We took Monday off simply she was psychological all day you know and we had a lot of individuals reaching out to us calling us texting us a great deal of great messages and a great deal of individuals informed us to come back do not stop."

Hernandez estimates they've put more than $50,000 into the food truck and while they do have insurance, the insurance firm has not yet made a determination on their claim.
