A collection of Cal State San Bernardino staff, faculty and trainees have set out to end gender-based pay injustice on school and the retaliation they say originates from staff members who express issues about the wage space and other concerns at the university.
Two dozen staff, faculty and students-- some wearing shirts imploring their colleagues to "Assert your rights"-- rallied outdoors Pfau Library Thursday, April 27, to voice their annoyance with the problems at hand and President Tomás Morales‘ ‘ silence on the matter.
Organizers collected about 100 signatures on a petition demanding an end to pay injustices at CSUSB, and later delivered the file to Morales' workplace.
A conference between university brass and organizers is in the works.
" This administration depends on fear," stated Robie Madrigal, a public affairs expert at CSUSB. "They think most people aren't going to fight back. We wish to accentuate this concern so we can start modification.
" We desire a brand-new administration," Madrigal included. "One that is devoted to pay equity. One that does not enable, condone or ratify retaliation."

Petitioners are calling upon university authorities to release a" rigorous, impartial, top quality, and fully transparent evaluation to determine and fix all pay inequities" on school, according to their letter to Morales. The group demands an independent third party conduct this evaluation, complete it by Oct. 5 and share the findings with the school community.
