Car seat issue added to death of 4-year-old in Moore County crash, cannon fodders state

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. (BNN)-- A mom and her 4-year-old child died throughout a head-on crash in Moore County.
Crews reacted to the scene around 9 p.m. Wednesday night in the Town of Vass.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol stated the mom, Dakota Sky Morris-Zolman, crossed the center line on Highway 690 and struck another automobile head-on.
Her child, Isaiah Thyme Morris, remained in a safety seat in the rear seats of the cars and truck. Investigators said he was not correctly restrained and the automobile seat was not correctly installed. Isaiah passed away at the scene.
And that goes against the state seat belt statute. The statute states that you have to have it correctly secured and properly fastened would be across the shoulder and not under the arm.
Morris-Zolman was airlifted to the healthcare facility. She passed away a few hours later on.
The chauffeur of the automobile Morris-Zolman crashed into was also airlifted to the medical facility for treatment. They stay there since Thursday afternoon.
A guest in the other lorry was treated on scene for small injuries.
SHP stated they do not think drugs or alcohol were consider the crash, however speeding might have been an element.
No charges are being filed at this time.
