CHEATHAM COUNTY, TN – The streets of Cheatham County were ablaze with unity and determination as local law enforcement officers, alongside residents, carried the Flame of Hope in a powerful show of support for the Special Olympics. The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run transformed into a vibrant celebration of inclusion, perseverance, and community solidarity.
Dozens of participants, including officers from the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office, Ashland City Police, and Tennessee Highway Patrol, laced up their running shoes to champion a cause bigger than themselves. The event, far more than just a fundraiser, symbolized the unbreakable bond between law enforcement and the community they serve.
"This isn’t just about the run—it’s about showing up," said Sheriff Mike Breedlove, wiping sweat from his brow post-event. "When our Special Olympics athletes see badges standing with them, it sends a message: You’re not alone."
The Torch Run, part of a global initiative, has raised over $1 billion worldwide since its inception. Cheatham County’s chapter continues to break local records, with 2024’s turnout surpassing previous years.
