Get ready, Northern California! This week promises a dramatic shift in the weather as two storm systems move through the region, bringing with them significantly cooler temperatures and the possibility of light rain and scattered showers. Whether you're a weather enthusiast or just someone trying to plan their week, here’s what you need to know!
As the first storm system makes its entrance on Monday, temperatures will plummet, with valley highs in the low to middle 70s—15 to 20 degrees below the seasonal average. Morning hours will see the best chance for scattered showers, although many areas may remain dry. It wouldn’t hurt to carry an umbrella just in case!
Tuesday will offer a brief reprieve from the stormy conditions, as the first system exits the area. Expect clearer skies and slightly warmer temperatures, reaching the upper 70s to low 80s. While still below average for this time of year, it's a welcome change!
The second system rolls in midweek, bringing another wave of cool temperatures and an increased likelihood of rain. Showers will begin in the Sierra, with potential for widespread precipitation in valley locations by evening. Keep an eye on the forecast as conditions may evolve!
As the second storm system moves out, expect cooler weather to linger, but temperatures will begin to rise again. By the weekend, we’ll find ourselves back in the 90s—an abrupt shift from the chill of earlier in the week!
Enjoy the week ahead and stay safe out there, everyone! Weather changes can bring both challenges and surprises, so be prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store.
