In a disturbing turn of events, Randy Molina, a man born in 1989, was arrested on Friday, October 18, following serious allegations of sexual abuse involving a minor. According to a criminal complaint, Molina is charged with transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.
At approximately 10:05 PM on October 18, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers stopped Molina as he attempted to enter the United States from Mexico. He was driving a white pickup truck accompanied by his two minor children and a 15-year-old girl, whom he claimed was his stepdaughter. Following their initial encounter, they were directed to a secondary inspection area for further questioning.
Authorities noted a troubling exchange of messages between Molina and the victim, which included discussions about their sexual relationship and a possibility of the victim being pregnant. In one chilling message, Molina inquired, “How do you feel being a mother at (16)?” This indicates his awareness of her age and the gravity of their situation.
The complaint highlights how Molina allegedly withheld the victim's legal documents as a means of control, preventing her from entering the United States independently. Such tactics are often seen as methods of manipulation and coercion, aimed at maintaining dominance over vulnerable individuals.
Records show that Molina and the victim crossed the border together 45 times in the past 24 months, raising further suspicions. After being released from inspection, Molina attempted to re-enter Mexico the following day, where he was again selected for inspection. Officers seized various grooming items and lingerie during this encounter, adding to the troubling evidence against him.
Molina's initial court appearance was scheduled for the following day but was terminated due to his unavailability. As the case unfolds, the implications of these allegations raise questions about the ongoing issue of human trafficking and the protection of minors.
