Dine 909: New dining establishments pertaining to San Bernardino, Upland and Redlands

San Bernardino is getting another Rally's drive-thru.

The brand-new location was identified in the north side of town, where the former Faith Ministry church when stood, 170 E. 40th St.

The building that when housed the church was taken down a number of years ago.

2 other areas (494 S. Mount Vernon Ave. and 1150 N. Waterman Ave.) are currently operating in the city and we're still awaiting a previous '90s-era Rally's at 996 W. Highland Ave. to reopen.

New ‘‘ que in Upland


Jim Bone's, a barbecue catering business, seems opening a brick-and-mortar dining establishment in downtown Upland.

Signs is up at the structure at 251 N. Second Ave., suggesting the dining establishment is coming quickly.

Bar and grill coming to Redlands


A former Redlands sushi restaurant is becoming a bar and grill.

The previous Sushi Kimo, 501 W. Redlands Blvd, Suite K, is ending up being Henry's Bar & & Grill.

According to signage up at the area, Henry's offers wings, hamburgers, tacos and craft beer.

Henry's presently has an area at 68955 Ramon Road, Suite 7, Cathedral City.

Pajamas and charity


Bruster's Ice Cream in Rancho Cucamonga is hosting its annual PJ Day fundraising event on Saturday, March 4.

On that day, customers who appear wearing pajamas can receive a waffle cone for just $1.

Proceeds will benefit Hope Through Housing, an organization that uses services for those residing in inexpensive housing neighborhoods.

The store is making a day of it, with a chance to satisfy Stryker, the mascot from the Empire Strykers indoor soccer team from 3-6 p.m. and get autographs from a set of Strykers players from 4-6 p.m.

Bruster's is also hosting an ice cream consuming contest at 5 p.m., with the possibility to win a gift card. Signups for the contest can be made by checking out a link in the area's Instagram bio at www.instagram.com/brusters_ranchocucamonga.

Bruster's is at 10570 Foothill Blvd., Suite 100.

A kids' meal initially


Baker's Drive-Thru has introduced its first-ever kids' meal.

The meal consists of an entrée, French fries or applesauce, and either a water fountain beverage or juice box.

Entrées consist of tacos, cheeseburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches.

However, the genuine appeal of the meal appears to be a sticker label pack designed by Riverside-based artist Richie Velazquez, who produces under the moniker Deladeso.

The five sticker labels portray a hamburger, taco, French fries, habanero spicy ketchup and the Baker's logo design, all rendered in Velazquez' style.

Prices begins at $3.89.

California cheese class


Tickets are available now for an upcoming California cheese class at the Cheese Cave in Claremont.

Cheesemonger Ashley Twogood will discuss the state's dairy and cheese history and will offer tastes of a few of the store's preferred California creameries paired with California white wines.

Guests should be 21 or older.

Tickets-- offered on Eventbrite-- are $75, with extra white wine pours readily available for purchase.

The class is set for 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11 at the Cheese Cave, 325 Yale Ave.

On the move


If you're searching for Najwa's Mediterranean Cuisine at its old standalone place in Loma Linda, it's gone.

The dining establishment has moved, combining with Angelo's Italian Restaurant, 11275 Mountain View Ave., Suite D, Loma Linda.

Thanks to reader Joan, who emailed us about the relocation and also kept in mind that the food was as excellent as it was at the old location.
