The buzz is palpable as the highly anticipated Armour House prepares to open its doors on Friday, November 8. Nestled in the heart of downtown Birmingham at 2309 1st Avenue North, this neighborhood restaurant promises to elevate the local dining scene with a unique blend of flavors and a warm atmosphere.
Led by Executive Chef Jeffrey Compton and local entrepreneurs Rollins Montgomery and Chris Reebals, Armour House aims to introduce a menu inspired by the classic brasserie style. Diners can expect a mouthwatering selection of dishes, including:
To complement these exquisite dishes, the restaurant will offer a diverse beverage menu featuring both timeless and innovative cocktails, alongside a curated selection of beers and wines. Notably, wine lovers will be thrilled to discover a selection boasting over 300 labels, including First Growth Bordeaux and Dom Perignon available by the glass.
With a capacity to seat up to 116 guests, Armour House provides various options for dining, including a chef’s counter, a main dining room, and an inviting outdoor patio. But that’s not all; the project also encompasses Pogo, a hidden speakeasy tucked within the historic walls of the Armour & Co. building, offering an exclusive experience for those in the know.
The arrival of Armour House marks the second upscale dining venue to open in downtown this fall. Just a month earlier, Sloan, a new concept from the creators of Bocca Ristorante and Bistro 218, made its debut at the former site of Pale Eddie’s Pour House on 2308 2nd Avenue North.
