ROSEVILLE, CA – A Roseville man is fighting for his life after a terrifying high-speed crash near Sutter Medical Center early Thursday morning. Placer County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency crews responded to the scene just before 5:30 AM, where they found a mangled vehicle wrapped around a highway divider.
First responders described a scene of "complete devastation" when they arrived. The solo driver, a 34-year-old Roseville resident whose name hasn't been released, had to be extracted using the Jaws of Life. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle weaving through traffic moments before impact.
The crash caused significant delays during the morning commute, with traffic backed up past Douglas Boulevard. Local business owners near the medical center reported hearing the collision from blocks away.
CHP investigators are reviewing security footage from nearby businesses and have issued a call for additional witnesses. The vehicle's black box is being analyzed to determine exact speed at time of impact.
