Enjoy 100-foot sinkhole open in soccer field


ALTON, Illinois-- Wild video reveals the moment a huge sinkhole opened in the middle of a soccer field in Illinois.

It happened around 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, in Alton.

Luckily, no one was on the field when it occurred.

The sinkhole, estimated to be around 100-feet wide, was caused by a mine collapse, according to a representative for the mine.

" The New Frontier Materials underground mine in Alton, IL today experienced a surface area subsidence and opened a sink hole at Gordon Moore City Park," a declaration to The Telegraph read.

The sinkhole is obviously on top of the mine.

The park has been closed while crews investigate.
