(FOX40.COM)-- Fairfield Police announced Tuesday that the department will operate a DUI and motorist's license checkpoint on August 18.
The company stated the checkpoint will be near Pacific Ave. and North Texas St. beginning at 7 p.m.
Fairfield Police stated that checkpoints are selected based on crash data and the frequency of arrests for DUI.
The safety factors to consider of officers and the general public are likewise utilized when deciding on the location of a checkpoint, police stated.
Police stated that officers will be keeping an eye out for motorists impaired by alcohol, prescription drugs, marijuana and other compounds.
