Family pet CPR: How to save your furry pal's life


MEDINA, Ohio – – First help classes are common for humans and now individuals can learn life saving measures for their four-legged companions too.

" There's about a dozen subjects we cover," said Marty Warchola, a qualified American Red Cross K-9 First Aid Instructor and owner of Best Paws Forward Dog Training Academy in Medina, Ohio.

At his school situated at 7444 Ryan Road, Medina Marty teaches numerous classes and commands including however not restricted to basic training, tracking, agility, treatment, cadaver search, rescue and detection.

But before any trainee learns those advanced skills their owner should initially learn K-9 First Aid.

" I've constantly believed it was actually essential," said Warchola.
