Fun occasions prepared for the weekend in Memphis


MEMPHIS, Tenn. - - It is formally the very first weekend of the summertime! So, it's time to look at a few of the enjoyable, family-friendly activities occurring in the greater Memphis location.

Friday is Family Fun Day. The City of Memphis and Memphis Parks welcomes you to come out and play from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m. There will be free activities for the entire family at Douglass Park including computer game, bounce homes, food trucks and more.

Friday night is also another installation of the Orion free performance series at Overton Shell Park. The music begins at 7:30.

You can likewise delight in some complimentary music at Overton Square on Friday night. That concert starts at 7 p.m. This is the last night of the summer music series.

Starting Friday through June 30, you can enjoy 9 to 5: The Musical at the Harrell Performing Arts Theater in Collierville. Tickets range from $17 to $28.

This Saturday is the Summer Solstice Market at Memphis Made Brewery. That's on South Cooper Street from 1 p.m. till 7 p.m. There you can discover handmade products from local artists. Admission is complimentary.

You can round out your weekend by relaxing throughout some goat yoga. 901 Goats is hosting this occasion at Overton Park Shell on Sunday from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and yoga mat leasing is $5.
