MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. - - The race is on in the Democratic primary for the seat challenging State Rep. Tricia Cotham.
She made the questionable choice in 2015 to turn celebrations - - ending up being a Republican ahead of this year's election. Nicole Sidman triumphed among the three prospects were competing for the Democratic seat for N.C. District 105, covering Mint Hill and Matthews..
Sidman won the race Tuesday with 57 percent of the vote. Her previous political experience includes running Christie Clark's effective project for the State House in 2018. Clark is now the Huntersville mayor.
Yolanda Holmes was second with 38 percent, and Terry Landsell got 5 percent.

Cotham, presently representing District 112, was unopposed on the Republican main tally. Her party-switch provided the N.C. House a super-majority, and was followed by the state passing a more limiting abortion law.
" I cant focus on Tricia Cotham. That's what I require to focus on, and everyone else can focus on what they want to focus on.".
On her project website, Sidman called out Cotham by name, state her competitor selected "to gut our reproductive freedom.".
