In a shocking turn of events that unfolded in Monterey, California, local police were called to a residence on David Avenue for a report of a 24-year-old man causing a disturbance. Upon their arrival, Abbruzzetti emerged from a bedroom brandishing a ten-inch kitchen knife and defiantly challenged the officers. Unable to gain control through peaceful means, officers made the decision to leave Abbruzzetti alone in the residence temporarily. This decision proved critical when he attempted to exit the home.
