In a shocking series of events, authorities have turned to the public for assistance in identifying the individuals responsible for a string of pellet gun assaults that occurred last spring across multiple nightspots in Hillcrest and North Park. These incidents, which left four people injured—one requiring surgery—are currently being investigated as hate crimes, raising urgent concerns within the community.
On May 18, during the early hours of the morning, a black late-model sedan drove by several establishments, unleashing a barrage of gel-pellet gunfire primarily targeting LGBTQ+ venues. The affected locations included:
