Salt Lake City residents are reeling after officials announced a sudden closure of a popular stretch of the Jordan River Trail. The shutdown, effective immediately, has left cyclists, joggers, and nature lovers scrambling for alternatives.
The closure affects a critical section near 900 South in Salt Lake City due to emergency repairs on a deteriorating pedestrian bridge. City engineers flagged structural concerns, calling the situation a "safety hazard."
Regular trail users express frustration over the lack of warning. "This is my daily commute route—now I'm stuck figuring out a new way to work," said local cyclist Marcus Greene.
