(FOX40.COM)-- The ski season is ready to start in the Lake Tahoe location, with one high-elevation resort set to open on November 10 and others prepping their openings in the weeks and days to follow.
Sierra Nevada ski resorts saw their ski season extended by numerous months in 2023 after some historic rain and snowfall in January and March.
These storms triggered hazardous conditions throughout the state, the snowpack enabled some resorts to stay open through late summertime with the assistance of snowmaking devices.
Considering that the start of the brand-new water year on Oct. 1, Northern California has had numerous storms that, combined with snowmaking operations, assisted cause the just recently announced opening dates.
In mid-November, weather forecasters anticipate above-normal precipitation throughout California, with a 40-60% possibility of heavy precipitation in the Sierra Nevada.
