Large illegal marijuana operation and guns seized in Modesto

(FOX40.COM) - - A search warrant in Modesto led to the discovery of a big unlawful cannabis grow on Friday, according to the Stanislaus County Constable's Office.

The constable's office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) performed the search warrant on a home on the 500 block of Glenn Avenue in Modesto, officials said. Throughout the search, a big unlawful marijuana grow was in operation along with six guns within the residence.



Law enforcement reported that prohibited cultivation of cannabis plants in California generally describes growing cannabis without adhering to state and local laws. This could consist of:

- Growing more plants than permitted by law.

- Cultivating cannabis without the required permits or licenses.

- Growing marijuana in prohibited locations, such as near schools or parks.

- Engaging in growing activities that violate environmental regulations, such as prohibited water diversions or using banned pesticides.

- Cultivating marijuana for sale without appropriate permission, such as operating an unlicensed commercial grow operation.

" These activities can lead to legal repercussions, including fines, residential or commercial property seizure, and criminal charges," deputies said. "It's vital to stick to California's marijuana laws and policies to prevent legal concerns. Present state laws permit California residents 21 years and older to cultivate as much as 6 marijuana plants in a single private home."
