Administrators at a Las Vegas primary school took a firearm Thursday that a student gave school.
In a message to moms and dads, Derfelt Elementary Principal Lea Chua wrote the event was immediately reported to the Clark County School District Police Department.
Chua composed the school isn't able to discuss specific student matters, "nevertheless, this occasion works as a pointer that weapons of any kind are not permitted on school."
