HOUSTON, Texas (BNN)-- A homeless man was killed by a hit-and-run motorist in southwest
Houston overnight, and cops are requesting for the public'& #x 27; s assist in finding the individual they think did it.
The fatal crash occurred in the 9900 block of South Main at I-610 South Loop West at 12:45 a.m. Monday.
Now, detectives are looking for a red Ford pickup truck that they say must have a lot of front-end damage.
Houston police said a Toyota Highlander was stopped at the light at the crossway of South Main and the Loop when it was rear-ended by the hit-and-run suspect.
After the initial crash, the hit-and-run motorist drove and jumped the curb under the o verpass, in between the support pillars and the incline, which is where the homeless man was asleep in a sleeping bag.
Cops said the chauffeur kept going after running over the man, hitting a tree and a pillar before getting away eastbound on the I-610 service road.
The male who was hit was taken to the medical facility, where he later on passed away, HPD stated.
Police said a 50-year-old female guest in the Toyota likewise reported an injury, however refused treatment and transportation to a healthcare facility.
