Microsoft includes another round of layoffs in Seattle

Microsoft is laying off another 689 people at its Redmond head office, The cuts bring the total number of individuals let go in the Seattle location to 2,184.

A Microsoft representative tells GeekWire that the most current cuts are part of the 10,000 being made across its worldwide operations.

The latest layoffs were filed with the State Department of Employment Security on Monday.

This is the third time given that January that local Microsoft workers have been affected by the terminations.

Microsoft stated initially that the layoffs would be made between January and the end of March, the end of the company's fiscal third quarter.

Construction season is year-round throughout the Pacific Northwest


Workers impacted by the newest round of cuts represented a mix of levels, locations, functions, and teams

GeekWire reports Microsoft's outcomes for the December quarter showed sluggish income development and brand-new levels of caution amongst the business's organization clients. Microsoft is one of many tech business to make layoffs in recent months, consisting of Facebook moms and dad Meta, Amazon, and Salesforce, in addition to many startups.
