More melting as we get warmer Sunday

More melting as we get warmer Sunday

Jessica Blum,

In spite of some high-level clouds on Saturday, southerly flow brought in conditions that allowed temperature levels to reach the upper 40s and lower 50s.

A breeze out of the southwest continues into Saturday night, keeping over night temperatures mild. We will slide through the 30s and land in the low to mid 20s by Sunday early morning.

Temperature levels across southeast Nebraska are not anticipated to vary all that much overnight, with the high clouds departing and mainly clear skies. Lincoln’& rsquo; s low of about 23° & deg; will still be a couple of degrees above our typical low around 19° & deg; for this point in February.

Sunday will probably appear like the somewhat better afternoon to be outside. Winds will be calmer, temperature levels will be slightly warmer, and we will see sun once again. A cold front will press through, however no outcomes are anticipated in regards to cooler air or precipitation opportunities. In that case, we will continue to melt for another day.

Many models keep us dry through Sunday night, with just a small possibility to see flurries or sprinkles by Sunday night. Most of us stay dry though Monday and continue to warm into the 50s. Lincoln is not far behind some of the locations that saw 50s on Saturday because they had less snow on the ground, so just up from here!
