A devastating traffic accident has left one motorcyclist dead and another in critical condition, following a collision near East Chapman and South Yorba. This incident, which occurred earlier today, has caught the attention of the Orange Police Department and the local community.
At approximately 1:48 p.m., police received reports of a serious traffic collision in the 2700 block of East Chapman Avenue. Here’s a breakdown of what transpired:
Emergency responders from the Orange City Fire Department arrived at the scene, where they sadly pronounced one of the motorcycle occupants dead. The second occupant was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
As of now, the cause of the collision remains uncertain. Investigators have not yet confirmed whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
The Traffic Unit has taken charge of the investigation, leading to significant disruptions in the area. All eastbound lanes on Chapman Avenue, from Yorba to Malena Street, will be closed for approximately five hours as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the collision.
