Lincoln-Goldfinch Law: Fighting for Justice and Dignity in Immigration Cases

Lincoln-Goldfinch Law recently celebrated nine years of helping more than 10,000 clients with family-based immigration and humanitarian cases. Kate Lincoln-Goldfinch, Founding Attorney and CEO, knew she wanted to work in social justice when she attended law school at the University of Texas in Austin. It was when she successfully helped a detained family with a five-month-old infant with their release from the Hutto immigrant detention center that has inspired her to spend her career fighting for justice and dignity for immigrants in Texas and the U.S.

She was previously serving on the former Mayor Steve Adler’s Commission on Immigrant Affairs for the City of Austin and was named one of Austin Monthly’s Top Immigration Attorneys in 2022 and 2024. She is also the pro bono liaison for the American Immigration Lawyers Association Texas Chapter and serves on the Board of Directors of VECINA, an organization that mentors immigration attorneys and empowers justice advocates.

Lincoln-Goldfinch Law is a woman-owned firm that leads a team, mostly of women and people of color, with personal connections to the cause of bringing peace to families. Most of the attorneys that represent and guide their clients through their immigration objectives, are bilingual, an important need for Lincoln-Goldfinch Law as most of Austin’s immigrant population are Latinos.

Whenever the political climate focuses on immigration as with this year’s election cycle, the team at Lincoln-Goldfinch Law strives to inform people of their rights through community outreach, workshops, and online resources. They visit churches and consulates to give free presentations, and the website includes informational videos and blogs available in English and Spanish that cover a wide range of topics from maintaining legal status to current issues such as Texas Senate Bill 4. Lincoln-Goldfinch also shares bite-size updates on immigration news and laws on TikTok. A goal for Lincoln-Goldfinch Law is to stress that regardless of being undocumented, everyone has rights to exist and live without fear.

What do you think?

  • Do you think more law firms should focus on social justice issues like immigration?
  • Should bilingual attorneys be a requirement for law firms serving diverse populations?
  • What are your thoughts on the current state of immigration laws in the U.S.?
