Near-record heat Monday before numerous rain possibilities in view

The last time we were at LEAST this warm was 32 years back on March 3, 1992.

Temperature levels will just enter into the lower 50s for lows over night. That's VERY moderate. It will feature a very extremely roaming sprinkle opportunity. Even warmer temperature levels remain in store for Monday. The existing record high for March 4 is 78 ° from 1983 which record is very much in jeopardy. Our projection for Monday is 74 °, just four degrees shy of that record. It will be the warmest March 4 since 1992 (74 °), too. A high of 74 ° is regular for May 17-19.

Rain opportunities will go up after Midnight and continue through Tuesday. This activity will come as pure rain showers with a couple of bouts of heavier rain in spots. Low levels of instability present in the atmosphere could bring a few embedded thunderstorms.

This activity will be the story for over night to Tuesday morning and afternoon. Umbrellas will be needed in addition to extra time for the Tuesday morning commute. A couple of lingering showers might continue late into early Wednesday however thinking those will be spread.

This will be the first of 2 systems today that will bring rain to Central Indiana. In between, Wednesday and the majority of Thursday seem dry with consistent temperature levels still above typical. The dry time will be short as the work week ends with system # 2 on Friday into the start of the weekend.

Completion of work week rain will come with another location of low pressure that will remain into the weekend. It will introduce some cooler air for the latter portion of the weekend. However, the total patterns are still looking moderate so I'm believing that "cool down" will be quick!
