Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen has declared a statewide burn ban as the devastating Plum Creek Fire continues to scorch thousands of acres. The emergency measure comes amid dangerously dry conditions, fierce winds, and rising fire risks that threaten communities across the state.
The fire, which erupted near Sutherland, has already consumed over 15,000 acres, forcing evacuations and overwhelming local fire crews. Authorities warn that without rapid containment, the blaze could spread further, putting lives and property at risk.
