WEST PORTSMOUTH, Ohio – – A new place for campers in Ohio to explore opens on Friday.
The Shawnee State Park Ohio River Campground includes 80 new full-service connection sites.
State officials state the brand-new camping area is now accepting bookings and they anticipate area to book up fast.
" We are excited to invite people to this brand name brand-new, cutting edge campground in the nick of time for the long, holiday weekend," said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. "This project puts tons of fun within strolling range of each campground. There's something for everyone and I can't wait to see individuals enjoy it."

Authorities state the camping site features a pet park, play area, Storybook path, River Walk Trail, fitness location, and a pump track for bikes.
