Nissan remembers more than 236K cars and trucks due to steering wheel issue

( The Hill)-- Nissan has released a recall for almost a quarter million cars today due to steering wheel issues, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated.

About 236,000 Nissan Sentra sedans in between the 2020 and 2022 design years have a weak tie rod in the guiding wheel, which might break or bend, triggering the vehicle to lose steering and crash, the recall report states.

Any Sentra motorists who feel that their steering is off-center or unsteady are advised to call their regional dealership right away. Tie rods will be replaced until strengthened replacement parts can be installed in the future, the automaker stated.

Nissan released a previous recall in 2021 for the very same issue for a smaller sized group of Sentra cars. Cars repaired in the previous recall do not require brand-new parts. That recall impacted just under 140,000 automobiles.

The business will get in touch with all chauffeurs by Oct. 5 and send out another letter when a last replacement part is available, Nissan said.
