(FOX40.COM)-- The El Dorado County District Attorney Office said it would not submit charges versus a guy who shot a bear cub that entered his South Lake Tahoe house in May.
The district lawyer's office released a 6 page report detailing it's investigation into the event which ultimately found that the male shot the bear to protect against a sensible risk to himself and his residential or commercial property.
According to the DA's report, on May 27, the man said the bear entered his home through a backdoor which had actually been left sophisticated and open toward his dog.
The man said he attempted to scare the bear away before retrieving a gun and shooting the bear. The bear ran out of your home and up a tree before falling out.
The man stated he yell the bear a 3rd time "out of concern for its suffering."
The male had formerly reported to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife that in September 2021 a mom bear and her 3 cubs had gotten into that same home and rummaged his refrigerator.
The district attorney's workplace also identified the male's discharge of a gun did not present a hazard to the surrounding community.
