A popular Southeast Houston nightclub is facing intense backlash after a chaotic Easter Sunday shooting left four people injured. Neighbors are now rallying for its permanent shutdown, claiming the venue has long been a hotspot for violence.
The incident unfolded just after midnight near Cullen Boulevard, where gunfire erupted in the club’s parking lot. Police report multiple suspects fled before officers arrived, leaving behind shell casings and a terrified crowd.
Frustrated locals argue this isn’t an isolated incident. "This place has been trouble for years," said one homeowner, who asked to remain anonymous. "Fights, noise complaints, now shootings—we’re done waiting for something worse to happen."
Community leaders are pressuring city officials to revoke the club’s operating permits. A petition circulating online has already gathered hundreds of signatures.
Councilmember Sandra Rodriguez acknowledged the outcry, stating, "Public safety must come first. We’re reviewing all legal options to address this situation." Meanwhile, the club’s ownership has yet to comment.
As tensions rise, Houston PD urges anyone with information about the shooting to come forward. A $5,000 reward is being offered for tips leading to arrests.
