(FOX40.COM) - - The Folsom Police Department said two people were detained on Tuesday after officers discovered over 500 taken pieces of mail in the trunk of a vehicle near the Palladio shopping mall.
Cops stated that 2 Stockton residents, a 28-year-old female and a 42-year-old guy, were reserved into a Sacramento County jail following the recovery of the taken mail, which was primarily from the Folsom and El Dorado Hills area.
On Tuesday, around 2:15 p.m., Folsom authorities officers observed a woman "acting suspiciously" as she entered a Nordstrom Rack store. Over 500 stolen mail items were recuperated by the Folsom Police Department on Tuesday.
" When the officer spoke to the male, he supplied an incorrect name and mentioned he was from the Stockton area. The officer noticed a package inside the automobile that did not appear to belong to him as it looked like it was postmarked and had a Folsom shipment address," Folsom PD said on Facebook.
Police stated the officer suspected the package was taken and apprehended the 42-year-old guy. Nordstrom Rack employees then alerted officers that the 28-year-old female was seen taking clothes from the store, which resulted in her detainment.
"The bag included more than 500 pieces of mail from the Folsom and El Dorado Hills area. Folsom PD has referred the mail theft to the United States Postal Inspectors who will finish the investigation.".
