Pasadena man arrested after carjacking in Redlands and authorities pursuit

A Pasadena man was jailed on suspicion of carjacking following a high-speed pursuit in San Bernardino County on Monday, March 27, police said.

Following the pursuit that ended in Colton, San Bernardino police officers found evidence that the suspect remained in possession of an automobile taken during a Redlands carjacking on Sunday, March 26, Redlands cops said in a Wednesday press release.

The carjacking happened after the victim went into a street on the 1000 block of Tribune Street with a lady he fulfilled earlier online, cops said. Manuel Jose Delgado, 42, apparently went into the rear guest side of the victim's car and threatened him at gunpoint.

After going into the automobile, Delgado required the personal effects of the victim and drove away with the victim's 2015 white Chrysler 200 and the lady, the news release stated.

Delgado, who is on probation for a carjacking in Los Angeles County, was being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

He is facing charges of carjacking, felony evasion, felon in belongings of a gun and belongings of a controlled substance while armed, authorities stated.

The news release called the involved female a suspect and stated she was outstanding.
