Police: McAllen woman played role as lookout in Donna man's murder

Shocking Details Emerge in McAllen Murder Case

Carmen Lizeth Valdez, a 31-year-old woman from McAllen, and Nathan Antonio Germain, a 30-year-old Donna resident, have been charged with murder in the death of 36-year-old David Martinez, also from Donna. The incident took place on Monday morning in McAllen, and new details from a probable cause affidavit suggest a chilling turn of events.

Authorities received a call at 10:55 a.m. reporting a death in a home on South 19 ½ Street. Upon arrival, they found Martinez dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives recovered spent casings at the scene, indicating a violent altercation.

Video evidence showed Germain arriving at the scene with Valdez in a white Chevrolet SUV. The footage captured Germain entering the residence, followed by the sound of gunshots. He then fled the scene with Valdez, leaving Martinez behind.

Further investigation revealed that Germain had hidden the murder weapon in a drawer at his residence in Donna. Valdez, on the other hand, was aware of the crime and acted as a lookout for Germain. Text messages recovered from her phone corroborated her involvement.

Police executed a search warrant and recovered a weapon matching the caliber of the casings found at the scene. Germain faces additional charges of unlawful carrying a weapon and tampering with physical evidence. Valdez was also found in possession of narcotics and charged accordingly.

Both suspects are currently in custody, with Valdez held on a $201,000 bond and Germain on a $370,000 bond.
