A male was hurt in an officer-involved shooting on Monday, April 24 following a supposed robbery in San Bernardino, cops said
At about 1:20 a.m. that day,
San Bernardino Police Department officers responded to a call about two male suspects on bikes who were equipped with weapons in the location of Baseline Street and G Street.
The caller stated a robbery perhaps took place and a lady was struck by a weapon, according to a SBPD news release.
The officers saw 2 people who matched the description and attempted to call them. One of them ran away on foot and the officers gave chase.
While attempting to take the suspect into custody, an officer-involved shooting took place, according to the news release.
Following the shooting, medical aid was offered and the suspect was carried to a health center for a non-life threatening injury.
Police did not instantly respond to concerns about the circumstances of the shooting, including whether the suspect was equipped.
The examination was continuing. The
San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office was conducting a parallel examination.
