– – Republican hopeful Bernie Moreno will now take on U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown in November's basic election.
Moreno won the Ohio GOP Senate Primary race in the March primary election.
There was a lot of celebrating Tuesday for Moreno and his advocates after it was announced he beat out Senator Matt Dolan and Ohio Secretary of State Frank Larose. But Moreno rapidly moved right into basic election campaigning mode.
" We're going to win this in November," Moreno said. "We're going to retake the United States Senate. We're going to have President Trump in the White House."

Moreno, who is a legal immigrant from South America, stated he entered into politics now to save the American dream for others. He utilized his approval speech to reveal praise for previous President Donald Trump and contacted the party to unify to beat Sherrod Brown. He called Brown a profession politician who has remained in office because President Richard Nixon and supports policies that are ruining the nation.
Moreno stated he is going to get what he's calling the "America First Agenda" done.

" We're going to have a safe and safe border where individuals only come into this country illegally," said Moreno. We're going to bring back basic, we're going to bring back law and order in this nation, aren't we?".
If he's chosen he would be the first Hispanic elected to the Senate from Ohio, Moreno stated. Both Dolan and LaRose promised to support Moreno in November.
Senator Brown was quick to position himself versus the Trump-endorsed Bernie Moreno as the prospect of the people.
In an interview with MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell Tuesday night, Brown stated, " I believe my profession in terms of fighting for workers and handling special interest is why no one challenged me in the main.".
He recognizes it will be an expensive battle ahead, calling it a hard race.
" They're going to have tens of millions of dollars. Moreno is a rich guy who inherited a great deal of wealth and he's going to be spending it," stated Brown.
Sherrod Brown has been a U.S. senator representing Ohio considering that 2006. Republicans see him as vulnerable in a state which has grown significantly conservative, in a year when Donald Trump is as soon as again on the tally.

Brown appeared confident and stated, "We'll win this race. We'll be outspent but we'll out-organize. we'll have more grassroots factors which's how I've won elections in the past.".
The incumbent explained some challenges he thinks the untried Moreno will face.
" I do not believe individuals trust him on abortion. I don't believe they trust him on ethics. They don't trust him on handling interest groups," said Brown.
He tells voters, he thinks Moreno is just out for himself while Brown has actually made a career of listening to his constituents.
" If you open your ears and listen," Brown said, "you can make a big difference in this task. And I do not think my challenger understands that.".
Because the outcome could determine control of the U.S. Senate, this race is anticipated to be one of the most expensive and highly viewed.
