The students are revolting! Not something you normally hear except for perhaps in a movie or television program. You picture trainees running through the halls shrieking for modification, and while this isn't THAT extreme, it''s sort of the exact same principle.
Exactly what is causing the pushback and "" revolting""? Let''s head over to Randall High School to learn.
As you know, voting was hung on Saturday for numerous positions such as Mayor, city council, and school board positions. Among those positions that were being elected was to be a member of the Canyon ISD school board, and the winner of one of those slots caused a significant outcry within Randall High School.
Paul Blake ran unopposed on Saturday and was re-elected to his post on the board. This didn't sit well with not only the trainees but the school board president. The students of Randall High have begun a petition to have Blake removed from his post.
So what''s the uproar all about? When Blake made some disparaging remarks during a candidate online forum in regard to LBGTQ+ trainees, it all began last month. He called it "" perverse, degenerate, demonic,"" which didn't agree with a lot of the trainees at the school.
On the @randallstudents TikTok account, a post was made with the remark "" It is unbelievable to think somebody like this is on our school board"" and included the video of Blake''s remarks towards the LGBTQ+ neighborhood and how he felt about it.
Blake''s exact words were, "" perverse, degenerate, demonic thing that''s from the devil."".
On Monday, Bill Jenkins, the school board president, required Blake''s instant resignation. No word on what his next actions would be if Blake weren't to step down.
Things worsen for Blake as he''s presently dealing with a federal lawsuit twisted around his comments, and additionally, the church that hosted the forum could be examined by the IRS as it is a 501c3 company. Anyone that holds that 501c3 classification, tax-exempt if you don't understand what 501c3 methods, is restricted from making or backing prospects campaign contributions.
