Sacramento man sentenced to 580 years in prison for sexually assaulting multiple children

(FOX40.COM) - - A male who stood trial for numerous sex criminal activities versus kids over a span of 10 years was sentenced to 580 years on Friday.

Kirby Torres was convicted of abusing 7 boys and women between the ages of three and 13 from 2010 and 2020. He was jailed at the age of 35 in 2020, and a jury discovered him guilty on Oct. 12, 2023, of five counts of dedicating salacious acts on a child under the age of 14 with force or worry and 19 counts of devoting raunchy act upon a kid.

The jury also found true that Torres made the most of a position of trust and that all seven victims were especially vulnerable at the time of the offenses. Court documents revealed that the crimes involved terrific violence or acts divulging a high degree of viciousness, callousness, or cruelty. The jury further discovered that his criminal offenses included planning, sophistication and professionalism, which Torres used harmful or profane material to motivate the children to take part in the sex acts.

When a babysitter overheard one of the kid victims talking about sexual conduct with Torres, prosecutors stated the abuse ended. An examination was supposedly led by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office and the Citrus Heights Police Department.

On Friday, Judge Matthew Gary sentenced Torres to 580 years to life in state jail. Under present California law, he will become qualified for release at an Elder Parole hearing once he reaches the age of 50 and just serves 20 years of his 580-years to life sentence.
