Exciting news for soccer fans in the Rio Grande Valley! Former Valley View standout and North Texas SC player, Pablo Torre, is set to make his return home by joining the UTRGV men’s soccer program for the upcoming 2024 fall season. This highly anticipated move was announced through an engaging Instagram post by the team.
At just 20 years old, Torre has already made a significant impact in the world of soccer. His journey began at Valley View, where he played for an impressive 3.5 years. During his time there, he became a pivotal figure in the team’s success from 2019 to 2022.
Torre spent the next two years in Arlington with North Texas SC, where he made 31 appearances and started in seven matches. Despite showcasing his talent with six goals and two assists during his tenure, his contract was not renewed at the end of the 2023 season.
The McAllen native is not just returning to familiar territory; he is also joining a roster that includes two other RGV natives: Alexis Gonzalez, a former RGV FC goalkeeper from Brownsville, and Arev Vera, a product of the RGV FC Academy from Edinburg. This local trio is sure to bring excitement and pride to the UTRGV soccer program.
