Southbound I-49 resumes following semi truck crash


HARRISONVILLE, Mo.-- All lanes of southbound I-49 have reopened after a multi-vehicle crash caused an extreme backup on the interstate Tuesday early morning..

Officials from the Cass County Sheriff's Office state a semi truck collided with another lorry on southbound I-49, just north of the exit for Missouri Highway 291.

Deputies state no one was injured in the crash, but the accident shutdown southbound lanes of I-49 at Missouri Highway 291 for numerous hours.

Kansas City Scout electronic cameras show all lanes of I-49 reopened around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Drivers are encouraged to use additional caution while driving in the area due to sand on the street.
