KANSAS CITY, Mo.-- Spire Energy consumers in
Kansas City can anticipate to see their gas bill boost starting next month.
Beginning Sept. 1, Spire West clients, which includes the
Kansas City metro, will see their bill increase by about $1.11 a month. Consumers on the eastern side of the state will pay $1.51 more each month.
The utility company states the rate boost is based upon weather condition variations.
This marks the 3rd Spire rate boost in the last year. Last November, the Missouri Public Service Commission approved an $8 rate boost for Spire consumers based on the rising expense of natural gas. In December, Spire began charging consumers an additional $4.75 a month to spend for infrastructure upgrades.
